The country's only zoo lies in Jawalakhel, a few steps from Patan, and makes a calm break from the bustle of the city.
Here you can see many of Nepal's animals: monkeys, birds, butterflies, elephants, one-horned rhinoceros, tigers, crocodiles and deer. It's a good option for visitors who won't have time to go to Chitwan National Park but would still like to see the main animals of the jungle.
