A short walk from Bungamati, Khokana is a second Newar village, known for its mustard oil, still produced by traditional methods.
It's possible to visit the mill where the oil is pressed, but it isn't always open, so tell us in advance if you'd like to see it. The rest of the village is well worth the visit for its traditional houses and the peaceful rice fields around it.
